Etosha National Park is one of Africa’s
great game parks. A total of 114
species of mammals are found in the
park, including the endangered black
rhino, cheetah and black faced
impala. At present the park has a
surface area of 22 270 km².
Etosha means “Big white plain”.
Namibia's winter is long and dry. This
is the perfect time to visit the park as
the animals are drawn to the
waterholes which are situated
thought Etosha.

from the arid mountain dessert of the
Kaokoveld to lily-carpeted waterways
in the east, the Northern region of

Inland of the coastal towns of
Swakopmund and Walvisbay lies the
Namib section of the Namib-Naukluft
Park with its gravel plains, fascinating
moonlandscape, the rugged Kuiseb
Canyon and one of the world’s botanical
curiositis, the Welwitschia mirabilis.
WATER BERG
The Waterberg represents a turning
point in the history of the country
and its people, since the Herero
have lost the greatest battle against
the German colonial soldiers at the
foot of the mountain, beginning of
the century.
The restored, former police station
which was turned into a rest camp
is now available for tourists since 1989.
The plateau extends from the
southwest to the northeast 48 km
and is 8 to 16 km broad.
